Just a little compilation of my favorite songs that I've come across throughout the month of June. It's a pretty eclectic selection. Hope you enjoy!

Growing up in the San Francisco bay area during the 80s, I grew up listening to freestyle dance floor pop as well as old school hip-hop music on mixtapes. And what did you use to play your mixtape? The boombox. It's one of the key sources of inspiration for how the visual design of this app came together. This mixtape is inspired by that period of my life and it's dedicated to the old boomboxes that have brought hours of enjoyment to peoples lives.

This mixtape was inspired by Through the Mic, a series at LACMA co-curated by Murs (http://www.lacma.org/series/through-the-mic). Consisting of all Los Angeles based musicians, this mixtape depicts the diversity of its people and culture. Side A is all hip-hop whereas Side B is a more eclectic selection of songs.

This mixtape goes out to my dragon boat team, the all mighty Space Dragons. I've made a workout mixtape that's inspired by our infamous workout routine, Super High Intensity Thrusts. Start rockin' those bottoms!
